The 3rd and 4th event will take the competitors back to the legendary terrains of Hiisi-Jukola. With the per mission of the National Board of Historical Monuments the week will end in Kiukainen Uotinmäki, the site of Stone Age habitation. The sprint run on the free day will take place in the historical mill site of Kauttua Ruukinpuisto. This orienteering week acts as a qualification event for the Finnish representatives for the up-coming world championships in Japan. Maps and terrain

The handwriting of the professionals can be seen in the maps of the orienteering week. The scale of the maps is 1:10 000, for qualification series also 1:15 000 and for sprint 1:5000. The woodlands of Raasinkorpi will certainly test the skills of the orienteerers from the outset. The terrain consists of small rocks. The WC-sprint qualification event on the free day is held in terrain where the choosing of the right track guarantees top speeds. Kauttua Ruukinpuisto also gives the spectators the possibility to follow the top orienteerers in action in the historical mill settings. The 3rd and the 4th competition lets the orienteerers enjoy the passable but demanding terrain of Eurajoki. The terrain is very much the same type as in 1999 Hiisi-Jukola, but partly even more demanding. The orienteering week will end in Kiukainen, in Uotinmäki which is famous for its Stone Age culture and Bronze Age graves. In Uotinmäki the terrain is more covered. The competition will be held on a knoll area surrounded by fields, in some places the height difference is 40 m.

Other activities

The orienteering week offers beside the competitions a lot to see and experience. For the history enthusiasts there is a lot to experience, for example the Viking Village of Härkäniitty, Köyliö Kuninkaanlähde (King's well) and Emil Cedercreutz Museum. Local history can also be seen in the 2 world heritage sites: Lappi Sammallahdenmäki and Old Rauma. The Pori Brigade which trains troops for UN peace keeping operations is also located nearby. There are also many other historical or nature sites you can visit. Fin5 Event Center in Eura is easy to reach; from Rauma, Pori and Turku it takes less than one hour.
